Know before you buy

There are a few factors to consider when getting your digital photo printing work done.

1. Is the quality of my photo good enough for commercial digital photo printing?

Chances are good that if you are using a current model of camera or phone that you can get a good quality photo enlargement made from your image, as long as you used one of the top 2 quality image settings available on your phone or camera. If you want to use a printed photo, digital photo from an older model camera or phone your chances of getting a quality photo enlargement from your image is very poor. A basic guideline for your enlargement is that your image be a minimum of 2 megapixels, any less and you may be in trouble.

1. What are the prices and sizes?

This is the fun part and the sad part,

  The fun part is that one your image has been deemed good enough, the size of the digital photo printing that can be done with    it is limited only be your imagination – 200 feet wide X 75 feet tall is obtainable.

 The sad part,

Is that the bigger that you go the more expensive it becomes, the 200’ X 75’ could be as much $10,000 to $20,000 and up to create, however, if all you need is a simple digital photo enlargement for over the mantle, your cost can be as cheap as $100 and up too an beyond $500.

1. Choosing an online digital photo printer.

There are many online printers that do a great job, some are cost effective some are less than that. When you are looking for an online printer there are several factors to consider in this process and all can be solved by simply calling the printer in question.

1. Do they do “one off” printing or will they print your single photo.
2. Length of time in business.
3. Guarantees, do they offer them on your printing job?
4. Are they willing to give your photo a “once over” to see if it is up to par for free?
5. What type of paper or banner material do they use (average photo paper 5mil – 9 mil / average banner 9mil – 13 mil).
6. Price – there are a lot of digital photo printers, look around and see which one suits you best.
